Please read this file before proceeding with the installation. **************************** 2.0 Adapter Installation Refer to the User's Guide for information on adapter installation. **************************** 3.0 Installation Notes for Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is a Windows 95 mini driver. It is installed and configured using the standard Windows 95 configuration utilities. Note: Windows 95 will require a re-start to implement certain display settings 1) Start Windows 95. 2) Insert the disk labelled Windows 95 into a floppy drive. 3) Click on the Start button. Click on the Run menu item. Type A:\WIN95\SETUP.EXE in the text entry area. Press OK. 4) Follow the instructions displayed in the help. **************************** 4.0 Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver problems - The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is capable of using monitor timing data contained within Windows 95. This data is selected by configuring a monitor type at Windows 95 installation time or via the "Settings" page of the display properties sheet. If you change the selected monitor type via the "Settings" page of the display properties sheet the new timing data may not take effect until after restarting Windows 95. A solution to this problem is to always restart Windows 95 after changing the monitor type. - The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is capable of using monitor timing data contained within Windows 95. This data is selected by configuring a monitor type at Windows 95 installation time or via the "Settings" page of the display properties sheet. The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver may incorrectly interpret Windows 95 monitor timing data for some older monitors which require interlaced modes. This may cause some options to be disabled. A solution to this problem is to select one of the "(Standard monitor types)" available via the settings page of the display properties sheet. - In Windows 95, display drivers can be installed via the "Add New Hardware" wizard ( although the procedure detailed in section 3.0 is recommended ). When the Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is installed via the "Add New Hardware" wizard the "Settings" page does not get installed into the mach64 display adapter property sheet. - In Windows 95, Rapid Resuming with the Virtual Desktop on will cause loss of the Virtual Desktop. This is because Windows 95 reinitializes the video mode on an APM resume. No data loss occurs. The desktop size is reduced to the screen size. Windows 95 also reinitializes the video mode when windows is restarted on systems with Rapid Resume. Again, no data loss occurs and the desktop size is reduced to the screen size. **************************** 5.0 Windows 95 property page problems - While adjusting monitor settings in the Adjustment page of the Display Properties sheet, your monitor could become unreadable. If this occurs, press the ESC key to return to your previous monitor settings.
