SYMPTOMS
========

Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 Service Pack 3 may stop responding and
crash unexpectedly when adding HTML markup to auto-forwarded items.

CAUSE
=====

There is an access violation in the information store because of heap
corruption.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server 5.5.

Microsoft used the most current virus detection software available on the date of
posting to scan this file for viruses. Once posted, the file is housed on secure
servers that prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
version 5.5 Service Pack 3. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server
5.5 Service Pack 4.

IMPORTANT: The Store.exe file for the fix is modified to provide additional
application programming interface (API) support. When you apply the fix, it
automatically upgrades the information store. After the upgrade, the server
cannot be restored to any older version of the Store.exe file before build
2651.32
