The following is a list of potential issues with the Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC
Edition that are solved with fixes and features in Visual C++ Version 4.0a. Note

Symptoms: Applications that build with Visual C++ version 4.1 for Intel have
compile or link errors when built with Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC Edition.

 - Problem: Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC Edition is incompatible with Visual C++
   version 4.1 for Intel.

 - Solution: Use Visual C++ version 4.0a RISC Edition (Visual C++ version 4.1
   for RISC).

Symptoms: Users of Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC Edition cannot use Open Inventor
3D Tools and IVF AppWizard from Template Graphics.

 - Problem: Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC Edition does not have Open Inventor
   support.

 - Solution: Use Visual C++ version 4.0a RISC Edition (Visual C++ version 4.1
   for RISC).

Symptoms: Users of Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC Edition cannot use internet server
classes, AppWizard for Internet applications, and World Wide Web access.

 - Problem: Visual C++ version 4.0 RISC Edition does not have internet support.

 - Solution: Use Visual C++ version 4.0a RISC Edition (Visual C++ version 4.1
   for RISC). Note that users with applications built with Visual C++ version
   4.0 InstallShield must rebuild their applications with Visual C++ version 4.1
