Configure your ISDN adapter according to the Ascend Pipeline 25-Px manual. 2. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click HyperTerminal. NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Windows 98, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click HyperTerminal. 3. Double-click Hypertrm.exe. NOTE: Ascend suggests that you use a different terminal emulator. If you use a terminal emulator other than HyperTerminal, you need to use instructions for that terminal emulator. 4. In the Name box, type "P25Px" (without quotation marks), and then click OK. 5. In the Connect Using box, click the COM port your adapter is configured to use, and then click OK. 6. In the Bits Per Second box, click 9600, and then click OK. 7. Press CTRL+L, press ENTER, press ENTER, and then verify or change the following configuration entries. NOTE: Use the ARROW keys to move between fields and change the entries. Type "0" (without quotation marks) if you do not want the connection to automatically disconnect. Max Ch Count 2 8. Press ESC, press the DOWN ARROW key to choose Save, and then press ENTER. 9. To verify that your settings are correct press CTRL+D, and then click Dial. If your adapter connects, quit HyperTerminal, and then continue to the next step. If you cannot connect, repeat steps 1-8. NOTE: The Ascend Pipeline 25-Px ISDN adapter uses a technology called MP+. Adapters that use this technology do not use the second channel until the bandwidth is high enough to require it. When the second channel is required it connects automatically. 10. Right-click the MSN or The Microsoft Network icon on your desktop, and then click Properties. 11. On the Connection tab, click "Connect to the Internet using a local area network." 12. Click the "Access the Internet using a proxy server" check box to clear it, and then click OK.
