When creating an ASF-based multicast you can also:
- Specify a unicast source for the stream using Configure Channels. This allows clients that are unable to receive the multicast to connect to NetShow Server and receive the stream.
- Set up the channel to distribute the stream to additional NetShow servers, using Configure Channels. Because a distribution stream is not a multicast, this allows you to bypass portions of your network that are not multicast-enabled and then multicast on local subnetworks.
- Add additional ASF streams using Manage Programs. Additional ASF streams must use the same channel. You can, for example, switch to streams coming from other Real-Time Encoders, or switch to stored ASF streams.
