Developing OLE Transaction Resource Managers March 24, 1997 We encourage anyone who is interested in developing OLE Transaction compliant resource managers to do so. The following information is designed to help you do this. The best source of information regarding the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) is the ResourceManagers.doc. You can retrieve it using anonymous FTP from anonymous@ftp.microsoft.com in the file bussys/viper/docs/ResourceManagers.doc. It is a Word document. We have developed a sample OLE Transaction compliant resource manager which you may obtain by requesting the Microsoft Transaction Server SDK release. The DLL and header files for developing MS DTC Resource Managers can be retreived from the following locations. You can use anonymous FTP from anonymous@ftp.microsoft.com\bussys\viper\public to obtain the files: ntwdblib.dll txdtc.h TXCOORD.H xactomsg.h. You can install the following files using the Microsoft SQL Server PTK setup program by selecting the MS DTC development libraries checkbox. The following header files are installed in the MSDTC\INCLUDE subdirectory of the directory that you specify when you run PTK setup. xolehlp.H transact.H xactomsg.H The following library file is installed in the MSDTC\LIB subdirectory of the directory that you specify when you run PTK setup. xolehlp.lib If you have questions regarding implementing an OLE Transaction compliant resource manager, please send them to DTCSIG@microsoft.com.
