The server update files upgrade existing SNA Server 4.0 systems to SNA 
Server 4.0 SP1. The client refresh files already contain 4.0 SP1 binaries and 
are intended to install new client systems. Note that the Windows 95 and
Windows NT client refresh setup programs require the MMC and MDAC files
if certain features are installed (such as the SNA MMC Snap-In, ODBC-DRDA
Driver, COM Transaction Integrator and OLE DB Provider). See the README.TXT
file for instructions on using the refreshed SNA clients.

The workstation update files upgrade existing SNA Workstation 4.0 systems
to SNA Workstation 4.0 SP1. Note that SNA Workstation is a separate product
than SNA Server and is not needed by SNA Server or SNA clients.

With the exception of the Windows 3.x client update, all of the other
update files automatically extract the files and run the update program.

When running update automatically, please note the following:

- before update is run, all files are automatically extracted to the 
  directory where the TMP, TEMP, or WINROOT environment variable is 
  pointing (trying in that order). So, if the SET command shows that 
  TMP=C:\TMP , and C: does not have sufficient storage to extract the 
  files, change TMP to point to a drive which has sufficient space.  
  For example:  

    SET TMP=D:\TEMP

- to extract the files into a separate directory without running update
  automatically, run the service pack update file using the /x option. 
  For example:

    40SP1IS /x

The refresh files prompt the administrator to choose a destination 
directory where the files will be extracted. The setup program is not
run automatically.
