The one-byte year field within this subvector should contain the last two digits of the date. For the year 2000, this should be set to 00. However, NVALERT was incorrectly setting the date field for year 2000 onward. Module updated: \system\nvalert.exe (Alpha): 12/07/98 12:25a 77,072 \system\nvalert.exe (Intel): 12/07/98 12:24a 66,608 Applying the Hotfix =================== 1. Extract the file and run the hotfix utility. Copy the hotfix to a temporary directory, and type "40y2kaj" or "40y2kij /x" (without the quotation marks). After extracting the files, the hotfix can be installed by typing "hotfix /install", without the quotation marks. 2. The symbol files are included but not installed. These files may be manually installed by copying them to the \symbols\exe directory. For example: copy nvalert.dbg c:\winnt40\symbols\exe This file is not required, though may be useful for debugging purposes if requested by support personnel.
