SYMPTOMS
========

When a user tries the following operations, blue screen might appear indicating
a system failure.

 - Tried to save a presentation file which contains rotated characters in 
   PowerPoint97.
 - Tried to display rotated characters in applications.

CAUSE
=====

Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 will install WIN32K.SYS which may trigger a 
symptom above when Win32 API GetGlyphOutline is executed.  This symptom will 
occur not only with PowerPoint 97 application but also with other applications that offers a capability to handle character rotation calling for 
GetGlyphOutline API.

RESOLUTION
==========

Microsoft has updated WIN32K.SYS and USER32.DLL to correct this problem and 
posted the updated version to the following Internet location:

NOTE: Service Pack 3 must be applied to Windows NT 4.0 prior to applying
this fix.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0.
A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested
and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft
recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
