SYMPTOMS ======== After applying Service Pack3, "FilePrint" is displayed in the product name list of License Manager and license violation message is displayed in Event Log. RESOLUTION ========== Microsoft has updated LLSSRV.EXE to correct this problem. This hotfix has been posted to the following Internet location: ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes/chp/NT40/ hotfixes-postSP3/lls-fix To update LLSSRV.EXE, please execute this module in every server. If "FilePrint" is still displayed in the product name list after this revision is applied, please delete license purchase history following the steps below. 1. Select Service from Control Panel and Stop License Logging Service 2. Delete CPL.CFG in System32 directory within the directory you installed Windows NT 3. Delete all the files in System32\LLS directory 4. Restart your computer Licence purchase history will be deleted by perfoming this operation. Please add licence again using Control Panel or Licence Manager. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0 Service Pack 3. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
