Installing the Update
---------------------

This update is packaged in an auto-install format. Perform the following steps
to install it:

1. Shut down any running applications.

2. Type the executable name to install the update. For example, enter the 
   following for x86-based computers:

      y2kfix2i

3. After the update is applied, your computer will automatically restart.

NOTE: This update contains Ntdetect.com. This updated file is only required 
on IBM PS/1-type computers; therefore, it is not automatically installed. To 
manually install it, use the EXTRACTING THE FILES section below to extract 
the files, make a backup copy of your current Ntdetect.com, and then copy 
over it with the version in this update.

Extracting the Files
--------------------

Perform the following steps to extract the files from the update without 
installing them:

1. Copy the update to a temporary folder.

2. Type the executable name followed by "/x" (without the quotation marks). For
   example, enter the following for an x86-based computer:

      y2kfix2i /x

3. Type "hotfix" (without the quotation marks) to apply the update.

Symbol Files
------------

The symbol files are packaged in an auto-install format. Do the following to 
install them:

1. Type the executable name to install the symbols. For example, enter the 
   following for x86-based computers:

      y2ksym2i
