Some users have reported recurring problems downloading and 
integrating the Yearbook Builder files for Encarta 96 
Encyclopedia. On some computer configurations, the .eyb files 
are getting corrupted during the download process, and Encarta 
cannot successfully integrate the files. The corrupt files are 
usually the same size as the originals, but portions of the files
differ. 

We are working to isolate the exact cause of the problem. In the 
interim, we have determined that most users can successfully 
download the files in the form of self-extracting zip files (Windows
machines) and in StuffIt Compressed, BinHex encoded files (Macintosh
machines) instead of .eyb files. Therefore, we are making the files 
available in that form, for both the North American English (for the
United States and Canada) and World English versions of Encarta Encyclopedia.


This directory contains two directories or folders. The directory
labeled "WINDOWS" contains the self-extracting zip versions of 
the Encarta 96 Encyclopedia update files for Windows 3.0, 3.11 and Windows95.
The folder labeled"Mac" contains StuffIt Compressed, BinHex encoded versions of
the Encarta 96 Encyclopedia update files. Please check the 
readme.txt files in the relevant directory for instructions
on how to use these files.
