Four Riffers, Episode 3: Love With Good Taste (Part Four)

Chapter 4

When I opened my eyes I found a Pokeball lying in front of me. I looked around to see everyone sleeping. "I did it" I grinned as I held the Pokeball up in the air, I was so proud of myself this time I caught it like a normal trainer does.

Tomoko: She's still dumb as bricks, so I don't know why she's patting herself on the back.

I turned to look at Cilan and Pearl still sleeping.  I then walked over to Cilan; I bent down and smiled as I just looked at his sleeping face.

Benimaru: Hey, hey, hey! No! Bad! Don't do that!

He looked so serene and so peaceful; I just wanted to hold him. I then heard him speak it was only for a second but I knew I heard right. "Topaz…" Cilan mumbled in his sleep. Was he dreaming about me?

Sonia, Benimaru, Tomoko: *facepalms*
Miyuki: *eating from the cheese tray* Yep. Of course he had to dream about you, because you're so special.

I leaned it a bit until I noticed Cilan's eyes open. I jumped up and fell backwards,

Sonia: So she didn't fall into a random pile of Maractus? Well, shoot me in the foot.

"You okay Topaz?" Cilan asked as he then tripped and fell on top of me.

Benimaru: Oh, no, no, no. Don't. The sun's still up... I think.

Our mouths were just an inch away, I felt my face turn bright red; Cilan was even a bit red himself. "Ci…Cilan?" I questioned as Cilan just continued to stare at me.

Miyuki: *rolls her eyes* Oh, just kiss him, you horny twit.

"Ehem…" we both jolted up to see Pearl giving us a disapproving look.

All: *sarcastically* Stupid third wheel!

"Sorry we just tripped" Cilan flushed.

Tomoko: Because clumsiness is so cute. I need another barf bag.

"Oh yeah it was nothing just a little trip but enough about that take a look" I spoke as I held out my Pokeball. "You caught it?" Pearl asked,

Benimaru: Of course. Mary Sues always get what they want.
Sonia: She doesn't feel like a Mary Sue.
Benimaru: Okay. She's a Mini Sue.

"Yes I did guess I proved you wrong" I smirked. "Well I do have to say that I am impressed." Pearl waved, "congrats Topaz that was a very unique catch" Cilan agreed. I blushed,

Sonia: *as Topaz* Praise my unique catching abilities, you silly peasants!

"well I guess we should let the Pokémon out now and get back to lunch… But I guess it is cold now" I sighed.

Miyuki: Fire! Heat! Do you know what that is, you stupid waste of skin?!
Sonia: Of course she doesn't. Her brain is in the Stone Age.

"Don't worry I can always re-heat it" Cilan smiled in reply.

Tomoko: *sets a microwave on the table* There we go. Now... who wants to stick my head into this thing?
Benimaru: Yeah, count me out of that task.

I released all of my Pokémon as Cilan continued to re-heat lunch.

Sonia: So... she released the already released Pokémon? Consistency, where are you?

"Everyone this is Emolga our newest member to the team, Emolga meet everyone." I spoke as all the Pokémon greeted each other.

Benimaru: Uh... care to tell that poor Emolga their names?
Miyuki: This is our pretty and wonderful Topaz! This is her hump buddy, Cilan! Oh, and there's some dude that travels with them, and there's her Pokémon. They're not as important as Topaz and Cilan, you know!

They seemed to all get along which made me happy;

Sonia: Which always happens in Happy Land. Honestly, the anime was more realistic in the relationships between the parties.
Tomoko: This fic's giving me diabetes, Hedgehog.

I then picked up Emolga and smiled. "I hope you enjoy traveling with us and I am sure we will all be great friends." Emolga just smiled in reply "Emo mo" I smiled back as I pulled it into a hug.

Miyuki: Emolga's Static Ability activated!
Benimaru: *smirks* How electrifying.

"Food is now ready" Cilan smiled as he once again sported his apron. "Alright everyone lets get to it" Pearl Chimed as he and his Pokémon dug in. Man they took after him, then again it is kind of funny!

All: *laughs, suddenly stops*
Tomoko: I am not amused.

After we had finished eating we continued to travel, we were heading to the Pokémon center in Driftveil City.

Sonia: *puts on a neck brace* I can't take any more of this.
Miyuki: And where the hell were they before?!
Sonia: I don't know, and I don't care.

I was looking forward to going to the market because they have a lot of great items that would be helpful for our journey.

Benimaru: I feel sorry for the people who played the Generation V games. *brushes himself off* And author, please don't touch me like that. I believe in consent.
Miyuki: *spits her water out* Whoa, that was one harsh riff.

Once we had arrived we checked into the Pokémon Center and headed out for the market place.

Tomoko: *grumbles while putting on a dunce cap* Maybe I should learn how to write my S's backwards now.

"So what is it you are looking for?" Cilan asked me

Miyuki: I'm looking for the end of this nonsense.

"I am looking for a certain TM." I replied

Sonia: In the games, you can't buy TMs at the Driftveil Market... but since this is based on the manga, this would be a bit more logical.

"I see this would be the best place to get one" Cilan smiled at me and my heart started racing.

Tomoko: Wait'll Kano rips that thing outta ya.

"I don't see why we have to go to this market…" Pearl sighed, "It's because they have many things that would help us on our journey" Cilan replied.

Benimaru: Because nothing's more useful than... *reads from a list* Moomoo Milks, really bitter herbs, and incenses. Okay, then.

"Alright well you guys go get those things I'm going to see if I can get a hold of Diamond." Pearl waved as he then took off. "Who is Diamond?" Cilan asked, "Oh he is Pearl's best friend and also his partner in his comedy routine" I explained.

Miyuki: *as Topaz* Look at me, Cilan! I'm so knowledgeable! Will you hump me now?!

"So he used to be in comedy then? Makes sense he does have a good sense of humor." Cilan laughed.

Miyuki: What humor? We didn't see any humor from him in this fic! We only saw common sense from him!
Sonia: That's because Topaz sucked him dry. That and she doesn't know what humor is even if she was hit by a wrecking ball.

"Well you do too," I blushed. "I hope so" Cilan smiled back.

Tomoko: *bored* Oh, shut up and hump his leg, will ya?

After the two of us had gotten everything we needed for our journey the two of us had returned to the Pokémon center but Pearl was no where to be found.

All: Ow, my neck!

"It's getting late I wonder where he is?" I questioned as I gave Cilan a look of concern.

Benimaru: Oh, now you want to care about the third wheel.

"He is probably just exploring around town, after all there are a lot of interesting places to catch Pokémon here." Cilan replied, "I guess" I sighed as we both headed up to our room. An hour had passed and it was now past 11:00 and I was definitely worried.

Miyuki: *stifles her laughter* No, you aren't. Think about it; you're alone in a room with your hump buddy. Come on, you know you want to do it.

"I'm going to go look for him" I spoke as I stood up and headed towards the door.

Sonia: She won't even make it down the stairs if she's going to go by herself.

"Wait I am coming with you" Cilan smiled as he opened the door for me. He was such a gentlemen; either way this was no time for me to go all school girl mode.

All: *rolling their eyes* Oh, please.

We need to find Pearl before he gets himself into trouble. Cilan and I had been searching for a while; we ended up at an ice storage

Sonia: The Cold Storage. Yeah, thank goodness that she's not going in by herself. Her stupidity would cause her to freeze to death in there.
Tomoko: She'd be an ice block before she even went inside.

"Should we go in?" I asked, "Well do you think he would be in there?" Cilan questioned "Well he has always been too curious for his own good, I would check it" I replied as Cilan and I opened the door. It was completely dark inside and just as we entered the heavy metal doors shut behind us.

Tomoko: Goodbye. I ain't gonna miss ya.

"Oh no" I cried out as I attempted to open the door "It's no good were locked in" Cilan sighed. So there we were locked in a giant freezer in the dark at midnight…

Miyuki: Uh-huh. That's nice.

"What are we going to do?" I panicked

Benimaru: *starts a campfire* Oh, hello there.
Miyuki: Do they have any fire Pokémon?
Sonia: Topaz? She doesn't. Pearl has his starter, though. And he's not here, obviously. So you know what that means.
Tomoko: Great. More sappy love crap.

"Don't worry we will stay close to the door and try to keep warm, I'm sure tomorrow someone will find us" Cilan said as he tried to reassure me. "I can barely see you" I stumbled until I fell forward on top of Cilan.

Sonia: *rolls her eyes* Can't she do anything else aside from falling on top of him?
Benimaru: You didn't know, Sonia? They have magnets installed in their bodies.
Tomoko: Yeah, and where the hell are the commas? They sound like robots here.
Sonia: They're on strike. Topaz must've joined up with Kathryn to cut their pay or something.

"Ah I'm so sorry Cilan I uh…" I stuttered as I attempted to pull myself up, just then Cilan grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his chest. "Cilan?" I blushed as I felt his arms wrap around me. "We uh… have to you know… Stay warm and um I just…" Cilan stuttered as I could feel him shaking. "Yeah… Thank you" I blushed as I just lay there in Cilan's arms.

Miyuki, Tomoko: *eating from the cheese tray*
Miyuki: Says it all, really.

Time had passed and we were both getting colder, "I think er… we should strip" Cilan spoke.

All: The hell?!

"WHAT? How will that help?" I yelled yet blushed at the idea.

Benimaru: *sighs* When hasn't she blushed? Honestly, that's all she ever does here.
Tomoko: *cleans her teeth with a toothpick* And the stripping'll help her in her free Sex Ed. class, Nikaido. It's a natural way of life.

"We need to um… Take our clothes of and you know er… get closer to each other and then put our clothes around us." Cilan stated as he begun to strip down, I knew he was right this was the only way to stay warm so I did the same.

Sonia: If he told her that drinking alcohol would make her warmer, she'd do it. *sarcastically* Because Cilan's always right!

I was getting extremely cold as I removed my clothes, as all I had left on were my bra, shorts and shoes I felt a tug as Cilan pulled me into his bare chest.

Miyuki: This is romance, guys. Enjoy it.
Benimaru: Oh, I really miss those specials now.

He held me tight and I could feel his arm flex as his grip grew tighter, just then he also threw the clothes around us. It was like we were in a fort made of clothes, only my dream guy is half naked in here with me.

Tomoko: *snores*
Sonia: Nobody wake her up. She'll kill you if you do.

I felt my heart race faster and faster, what if he could feel it? Would he figure it out… What I kept hidden for so long.

Benimaru: Well, you didn't do a good job at hiding it, considering that you haven't shut up about him since the first chapter.

I placed my head against his chest; I could feel his heart pounding as well… Did he feel the same…

Miyuki: Yes. Duh!

"Cilan I…" I spoke as I felt Cilan place his hand on the side of my head pulling me closer to him. Even if I couldn't see I could feel his eyes fixed on me, Cilan… Was he going to kiss me?

Tomoko: *wakes up, fluffs one of the couch pillows* Wake me up when this is over.
Sonia: *raises an eyebrow at Tomoko* Oh, she's just like Sonic.

I continued to lean in when the door swung open and I heard a familiar voice. "TOPAZ CILAN ARE YOU IN HERE?" Pearl belted at the top of his lungs.

Tomoko: Huh?! Oh! Dude just cockblocked them again!
Miyuki: Man, Topaz's lady bits must be blue by now.

"Yes we are" I threw the clothes away as I ran to hug Pearl.

Sonia, Miyuki, Tomoko: Huh?!
Benimaru: *stammers* Why -- why would you... oh! *facepalms*

"WHY ARE YOU HALF NAKED? Pearl blushed as Cilan threw my dress back to me. "We were trying to keep warm" Cilan blushed as he walked over fully dressed.

Tomoko: Sure. "Keep warm". Uh-huh.

"Why are you in here anyways?" Pearl asked "We were looking for you idiot" I started to cry as I clutched Pearl's shirt in my hand.

Sonia: Someone's an idiot, and it's not Pearl.
Miyuki: *casually digging in her ear* Well... we don't know if Pearl managed to speak to Diamond. And it technically shouldn't take all day to make a call. So... they're all idiots.

"Topaz…." Pearl spoke as tears continued to stream down my face. "I was so worried why did you take off?" I cried more as I then started to pound my fists on his chest, not enough to hurt him but enough to get my point across.

Benimaru: This is annoying. She's practically a seven year old in an eighteen year old's body. *shudders* I'm going to stop that thought now.

"Sorry Topaz don't cry, I had just ran into the gym leader and gave him a match, won a badge too. Then I went back to the Pokémon Center and Nurse Joy said you guys went to look for me, someone saw you heading this way and I knew you would look in here for me." Pearl smiled "Idiot" I smiled.

Tomoko: Did you guys smile yet?
Sonia: Uh... Pearl didn't battle gyms in the manga. Why did he randomly battle Clay?
Tomoko: Because this fic makes no sense, Hedgehog.

We then all headed back to the Pokémon Center to get as much sleep as we could.

Benimaru: Unfortunately, they're going to wake back up. *sighs* Let's get this next chapter over with.
Sonia: Sure thing.
